Abstract
The results of investigation of influence of structural and technological parameters of rotating drum reactor on the qualitative and energy parameters of compost production from plant raw materials are presented. By the method of multifactor experiment the rational values of parameters and modes of the reactor operation were received. The received values are corresponding with biotechnological requirements for the composting process by the mixing uniformity of components in the substrate. The rotation speed of the reactor, the angle of the fixed blades, located on the inner surface of the drum, and substrate moisture content, at which the uniformity of components distribution in the substrate reaches the maximum values and provides minimum energy consumption of the process are determined. The selection recommendations of design parameters and modes of rotating drum reactor are given.
