Abstract
The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies on the determination of nonlinear relationships between soil hardness, bulk density, and moisture. It is found that these characteristics can be described by second-order models and used for the purpose of improving devices for on-stream soil bulk density analysis. The models for determining the density in the range of 0.9-1.6 g/cm3 with an extremum of 1.35 g/cm3 at a moisture content of 20% of loamy soil are substantiated. The proposed device ensures obtaining the on-stream specified indicators of soil bulk density within the limits of its hardness of 0.3-1.2 MPa, humidity of 10-30% when the angle of inclination of the kinematic link changes from 15 to 40 degrees. Research results can be adapted for using this device in precision agriculture technologies.
