Abstract
Aiming at the problems of insufficient machinery for dried chili segmenting, as well as low working efficiency and high damage rate of the existing segmenting machines, a rotary cutter-type dried chili segmenting machine was designed. The working mechanism of cooperative cutting by the rotary cutter and the drum was elaborated, and the structural parameters were determined according to the movement characteristics of the rotary cutter and actual operational requirements. Three factors affecting the chili segmenting efficiency were identified, namely rotary cutter speed, drum speed and conveyor belt speed. Taking the qualification rate and damage rate of chili segmenting as the experimental indicators, the experimental design and data processing were carried out by using Design-Expert 13 software. The influence laws of the experimental factors on the segmenting qualification rate and damage rate were clarified, a regression model between the experimental indicators and the influencing factors was established, and the optimal parameter combination was determined. The experimental results showed that when the rotary cutter speed was 51 r/min, the conveyor belt speed was 0.6 m/s and the drum speed was 51 r/min, the damage rate of the device was 1.42% and the qualified rate was 98.21%, which met the industry standards. This research can provide a reference for the research on the technology and equipment of rotary cutter-type dried chili segmenting machines.
