Abstract

To address the environmental pollution caused by discarded non-biodegradable fruit bags in orchards, an air-suction orchard fruit-bag collection machine was developed. First, theoretical calculations and analyses were conducted on the key machine components to determine the main operating parameters. Kinematic analysis was then performed using ADAMS, and the airflow field was simulated using Fluent. Next, a prototype was manufactured. Based on multivariable response surface analysis conducted in Design-Expert, the optimal parameter combination was identified as a travel speed of 2 km/h, a suction-inlet air velocity of 15.5 m/s, and a helical-conveyor rotational speed of 66 r/min. Orchard field tests showed that, under the optimal operating conditions, the actual collection rate reached 82.5%, confirming that the machine met the intended design requirements.
