Abstract

To address the issue of uneven fracture during the processing of Astragalus slices, this study first establishes a discrete element Bonding model for Astragalus roots, filling the gap in the calibration of its bonding parameters. Through uniaxial compression tests and multiple optimisation experiments, the optimal parameters were determined, with simulation errors below 1.6% and validation errors for the fracture rate ≤ 12.7%, providing theoretical support for the development of processing equipment for Astragalus slices.
